Factors associated with HIV viral load suppression on antiretroviral therapy in Vietnam
BACKGROUND Limited data are available on HIV viral suppression rates among men and women on antiretroviral therapy (ART) and factors associated with HIV RNA viral load (VL) suppression in Vietnam. METHODS We conducted a cross-sectional survey of 1255 adult patients on ART for at least 1 year across four provinces in Vietnam. Data collection included a standardised questionnaire, routine labor...

BACKGROUND Despite the growing number of people on antiretroviral therapy (ART), there is limited information about virological non-suppression and its determinants among HIV-positive (HIV+) individuals enrolled in HIV care in many resource-limited settings. We estimated the proportion of virologically non-suppressed patients, and identified the factors associated with virological non-suppressi...

The article, however, made a subtle but important mistake in characterizing the guidelines from the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission published as a companion to the Medicare Shared Savings Program. The authors twice identify a “balance” between market power and integration efficiencies as the goal of the antitrust guidelines. The concept of balance misstates the vital role...
متن کاملRapid HIV Viral Load Suppression in those Initiating Antiretroviral Therapy at First Visit after HIV Diagnosis
Expert guidelines for antiretroviral therapy (ART) now recommend ART as soon as possible in all HIV infected persons to reduce the risk of disease progression and prevent transmission. The goal of this observational study was to evaluate the impact of very early ART initiation and regimen type on time to viral suppression. We evaluated time to viral suppression among 86 persons with newly-diagn...

Altogether 42 million people worldwide have been infected with HIV, and 12 million have died over the last 20 years. Effective antiretroviral therapy has lead to sustained HIV viral suppression and immunological recovery in patients who have been infected with the virus. The incidence of AIDS has declined in the Western world with the introduction of effective antiretroviral therapy. Questions ...
